Simex began in 1991 in San Giovanni in Persiceto (Italy) with the aim to produce high technology equipment for earthmoving prime movers. We first manufactured asphalt planers to be fitted on backhoe loaders. Shortly thereafter, we started manufacturing planers for asphalt and concrete to be fitted on skid steer loaders. Simex product evolved to wheel saws, wheel compactors, and planers for excavators; targeted to be used in canalization and road maintenance applications. In a short number of years, Simex became the European market leader in this very specialized field.

Today, Simex produces rotary cutters for excavators (8 models for excavators weighting from 1.5 up to 60 tons) to be used in quarry, controlled demolition, and deep trench applications; the first Simex products which move away from the typical road maintenance applications.

Our revolutionary crusher bucket for skid steer loaders, loaders, and backhoes was launched in 2007. This attachment is the optimal solution to crush material coming from building demolition, on-site. In 2009 the crusher bucket for excavators was launched which is a totally different product for Simex due to its huge production performance and its incredible crushing force. In 2010, we introduced a crusher bucket attachment for excavators: a renewed design with internal features enhanced after the first year of on-field experience.

Currently Simex is positioned first throughout the world among these equipments producers (absolute first position for planers and wheel trenchers for skid steer loaders) and markets them both under its brand and some street skid loader manufacturers’ brand. 2009 production consisted of over 2,000 units (60 models produced with more than 200 versions). Simex today exports over 70% of its own production.
